Full Time RV Living–Huge, Huge Changes Going On

Last week was our grandson’s 18th birthday,
so we were supposed to drive to Houston and take him to dinner. . .
but due to his new retail job (whoo who). . .
and the Christmas season starting. . .
we just could not make the schedules mesh. . .

soooo. . .instead, we went to check out the motorhomes
at our favorite consignment lot. . .
and wouldn’t ‘cha know it. . .
showimagerv (14)
this Monaco Dynasty had our name on it. . .
so we bought it!

It sure would’a been cheaper to do the lunch date. . .LOL!

Picked it up Monday. . .
David Monaco
tough wind. . .but Dave handled it beautifully!
IMGP2184
this morning. . .Tuesday. . .all the Park Host ladies got together
and decorated for our Staff Christmas party. . .
IMGP2186
after that. . .moving day. . .
this is the fifth wheel with all the upper cabinets emptied. . .

We’re trying to move everything systematically
and put everything away as we go. . .
it’s working out pretty well. . .
so far we’ve found a place for everything. . .

Tomorrow . . .the kitchen. . .we’ll see how that goes!

Til next time,
Janice

  2. Congratulations! I knew it was a matter of time before you transitioned! We are about to pay our house off and would love to have one if diesel was still $1.00/gallon!

    1. Yeah. . .I hear ya! A tank of diesel will probably cost us about the same as one of your Houston summer electric bills. . .just sayin'. . .LOL!

  3. Fantastic! So happy for you! can't wait to see more photos! What do you like about it that you didn't have before? Besides now being easier to park, lol. Eldy wants to know the specs--how long is it? When we moved from our 38 foot to a 40 foot, it took two whole days of moving and we had to do it in the rain both days...couldn't believe how much STUFF we had! :-) Sounds like your move is going very smoothly.

    1. Thanks Jeannie. . .tell Eldy it's only a 40 footer. . .we were surprised by the tag axle. . .but think we are really going to like it.

While I would have loved to have traded in our old rig. . .I am very thankful to not be rushed in moving stuff. This experience is going a lot smoother than the last time on the dealer's lot when we were just throwing stuff from the old rig into the new rig.. .what a mess!

Everyone will tell you there is much more storage in a fifth wheel. . .and I believe they may be right. When I first began comparisons as to where thing were gonna go. . .I had a bit of a trauma moment. . .but it seems to be working out.

The things we think we will love. . .having a generator. . .the hydro hot endless hot water system. . .the freedom to move around a bit while traveling. . .we'll see. It's going to be a while before we actually experience the traveling differences. . .but we think we will really like it!
