Evans Escapades at the Delaware State House

Oh goodness. . .the discussions there are  about
the maps RV’ers have on their rigs. . .
United States, Map of where we've been
here’s ours. . .
These are all the states “our bodies” have been in. . .
I’m going to get another one for all the states “the RV” has been in. . .
but I’m not sure that the RV will ever make it to all the states. . .ever.

For example. . .the Motor Home was safely ensconsed  in our
membership park in Gettysburg. . .so we decided to. . .
rather than fighting the traffic with the rig,
and then try to find an RV Park on the East Coast. . .
to just leave it there. . .do an overniter. . .
see the State House at Annapolis MD
stay the night in a hotel. . .
and see the State House at Dover DE the next day . . .
Dover Delaware - State House
worked out great. . .
Several of our friends give us a hard time,
because we don’t tour each and every capitol building.

They jokingly ask us if we just get drive bys
so see. . .here’s the proof. . .we actually got out of the jeep. . .ha ha!
this was following Sunday Morning Church Service. . .
thus the dressy duds. . .
Dover Delaware - State House
as I’ve said before. . .our Texas plates get us lots of attention. . .so
the jogger you see in this pic stopped off to ask us
if we collect State House pics. . .
and how many did we have?

You know. . .I still need to go count. . .
I think we’re doing pretty good. . .

We’re headed to Kentucky next. . .
see you there. . .

‘Til next time,
Janice and Dave

  1. I am glad you mentioned that you went to church. When I saw that photo, I thought you might be a bit overdressed for a visit...lol

You going to do the bourbon trail? We had a great time.

  2. If I had a map on the side of my rig, it would include anywhere I have camped overnight since I began camping as a teenager. :)

    1. yaaa. . .someone who agrees. . .that's what I keep trying to tell people. . .I don't understand why they think their RV has to be there for it to count.. .

  3. Everybody gets to make their own rules. On the blog our maps says "states where Winnona has camped". If we just did the ones we've driven through we'd have all 48 by now. But really, who cares although I'm still waiting for that ferry to Hawaii. I think it's great that you collect capitols. I get to see them without having to drive into the city. Safe travels south!

    1. so you've actually been in all 48 states. . .that's great! It is true that each couple makes their own rules. . .just gets me a little when I'm told. . .oh no. . .you can't count it! What? Too funny. . .

Only the ones the RV has been in is the one I will put on our blog though. . .if I can ever figure out how to get it on there. . .

  4. Yup...everyone gets to make their own rules about state visits. We heard of a couple who only counted the states where they made whoopie! LOL To each his own. Love the colonial architecture of the Delaware Capitol. You get to make your own rules about visiting Capitols, too! Whatever works. Frankly, most capitols look a lot alike on the inside. Maybe some interesting pictures unique to their state. It's the state museums that can really be interesting.

    1. definitely agree that most look similar inside. . .although I do enjoy visiting the ones with magnificent features like the Tiffany Doors at Little Rock or the Tiffany Chandelier in Olympia. . .haven't gotten to see that one yet. . .but we do enjoy seeing the beautiful architecture of each one. . .

  5. Your map, your rules. It does help though if people looking at your map know what your rules are. :)
