WHY you may ask. . .or at least that’s what
two of our friends asked. There’s nothing there. . .
We know, we know. . .but. . .this is going to be
our last stop with down time for awhile. . .
and we have chores that need doin’. . .
AND. . .as it turns out. . .
Bakersfield ended up being a fortuitous decision. . .
There’s a CUMMINS Repair Shop there. . .
and SINCE we seem to be touring their facilities. . .
may as well check this one out too. . .right?
Not on purpose, mind you. . .BUT. . .
the low oil pressure light IS coming on. . .
and we should take advantage of the Cummins Shop
and have it checked out. . .
JUST IN CASE it’s related to our previous repair.
THIS TIME. . .it really is JUST a sensor. . .
a MONACO sensor, which has failed,
and is easily replaced. . .yaaaaa!
So, we camped out with Cummins,
and had that taken care of bright and early Friday morning. . .
and really. . .there is nothing to explore in Bakersfield. . .
so we took care of chores, and errands. . .
attended church on Easter Sunday,
and experienced a live drama titled
”The Living Last Supper”. . .very well done!
Finally, having decided we had earned a break,
I discovered a write up about the
Peacocks at Hart Park on TripAdvisor.com/Bakersfield CA
oh wow. . .we LOVE peacocks. . .
and they were spectacular. . .
in full mating regalia. . .twirling. . .dancing. . .stomping their feet. . .
clacking their feather together. . .purring and whirring. . .
all to impress the peacock hen. . .who acted as though she could care less. . .
oh my goodness. . .it was a beautiful, beautiful spectacle
about a dozen males. . .and 1/2 dozen females. . .
isn’t he just divine?
glorious even in repose. . .
I think God was just showing off the day He created peacocks. . .
utter magnificence. . .
After our bit of disappointment on our whale watch,
we were thrilled with this perk me up. . .for FREE!
okay. . .fun’s over. . .back to work. . .
our last big chore. . .cleaning the rig . . .
We rarely break out the hose anymore, having found that a bucket of water,
and a supply of microfiber cloths can get the job done splendidly. . .
Looks great. . .right?
and that was it for Bakersfield. . .ready to roll on Thursday morning. . .
See you next time at Sequoia and King’s Canyon National Parks. . .
’til then,
Janice and Dave
