We are loving the weather and scenery in California. . .
the prices. . .not so much. . .but it goes with the territory. . .
We would certainly need to workamp in order to stay out here
if it weren’t for our Thousand Trails RV Park Membership. . .
it has been a lifesaver, with parks fairly close to where we wish to be. . .
FRIDAY – APRIL 17
a day with friends at Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz. . .
the eucalyptus trees are just enormous. . .
more pics of our day in Santa Cruz available here
SATURDAY, APRIL 18
Saturday found us driving over with Debi, Ed, Marilu and John
to meet Gail and Mike at Garlic World in Gilroy,
the self proclaimed Garlic Capitol,
and, where I had decided I simply must try garlic ice cream. . .
the first couple of bites were okay,
just a hint of garlic, but once that
garlicky aftertaste hit you, it went quickly downhill. . .
but hey. . .I can say I’ve tried it. . .right?
see the rest of our Gilroy pics
Deb and hosted a big potluck on Sunday. . .
everyone brought their favorite dish. . .
Five couples. . .not one single pic taken. . .crazy. . .
guess we were too busy talking and eating. . .
after three big days in a row,
we needed a break, so we took Monday off
to catch up around the coach. . .
this is how we feel these days. . .LOL!
TUESDAY, APRIL 21
We headed out bright and early Tuesday morning,
headed to SanFran with Debi and Ed. . .
The RV Park is about 1 1/2 hours from the city. . .
and as with every large metroplex. . .traffic had it’s moments,
but we were able to ride in the car pool lane
which helps tremendously. . .
We were thinking we would get Alcatraz tickets. . .HA. . .
you need those in advance. . .way in advance. . .
so we purchased some for next week. . .
and set off to explore the waterfront. . .
a few more SanFran pics. . .
see you next time as we explore the Big Sur Coastline, and beyond. . .
’til then,
Janice and Dave
