This Must Be the Tropics

because every afternoon we get a really brisk shower
and then the sun comes back out. . .it’s weird!
our very nice next door neighbors invited us for an outing
to one of the community parks on Lake Erie,
Ohio, Ashtabula County OH, Arcola Creek Estuary, Lake Erie, Great Lakes, RV Friends, Paul Lodola, Lois Lodola, Kenisee Creek Thousand Trails, Home State Connecticut
so we sneaked out to Arcola Creek Estuary
with Loie and Paul between rain showers. . .
the folks you meet along the way are so great. . .
Paul and Loie ran their own electrical company,
so Paul has been able to give Dave numerous electrical tips
concerning the inverter, and running the generator. . .
tips from a pro are so much easier than reading the manual. . .right?
Ohio, Ashtabula County OH, Arcola Creek Estuary, Lake Erie, Great Lakes, David, Janice
Dave and I sneaked in one more quick pic with Lake Erie in the background. . .
it was so overcast, you can hardly tell where the lake ends and the sky begins. . .
nevertheless. . .still a beautiful place to be.
Ohio, Ashtabula County OH, Arcola Creek Estuary, Lake Erie, Great Lakes, Birds, Red Winged Blackbird (1)
I took this pic at the same park. . .and was so befuddled as to what type of bird it might be,
I was forced to contact an expert. . .Judy who writes the blog Travels With Emma
was able to tell me right away that it was a female Red Winged Blackbird. . .
Ohio, Ashtabula County OH, Arcola Creek Estuary, Lake Erie, Great Lakes, Birds, Red Winged Blackbird
now that she told me. . .it makes perfect sense. . .
I had been photographing Male Red Winged Blackbirds all afternoon. . .
just didn’t make the connection. . .duh!

That’s about all the excitement we’ve had this week. . .
didn’t try to go and see the fireworks. . .I guess we’re just getting old. . .
fighting the crowds and the traffic just doesn’t seem all that wonderful anymore. . .
Holiday - Fourth of July Kitten in Flag Hammock
about 9 o’clock on Fourth of July, I posted this to my FaceBook Page. . .
wished everyone Happy 4th Fireworks and a wonderful Good Night!

We’ve gotten lots of little projects done while we’ve been here for three weeks. . .
door latches changed. . .maybe they’ll stay closed now as we rattle down the highway. . .
other miscellaneous, non essential little naggy things done. . .nice to have them out of the way!

Sunday, we head to Niagara Falls where I am excited to say my brother and sis in law
will meet us. . .so he and I can discover Niagara Falls together. . .I am beyond thrilled!
Til next time,
Janice and Dave
