Evans Escapades at Plymouth Rock. . .

Massachusetts, Plymouth MA (4)
I know. . .I know. . .skip the rock. . .ha ha
several of you told me that. . .
but. . .if you’re that close. . .you gotta see it. . .right?
 Massachusetts, Plymouth MA (5)
it’s not really much to look at is it?
Massachusetts, Plymouth MA (8)
but the story of why it is a National Landmark is interesting. . .
Massachusetts, Plymouth MA (31)
this is the arbor it is housed under. . .
behind a fence. . .’cause people kept bringing their hammers and chisels
and taking away pieces of it. . .no wonder it’s so small. . .

Mayflower II
a tour is available of the Mayflower replica if you are so inclined. . .we weren’t. . .
after hearing the Ranger’s tale about how the Pilgrims had to stay belowdeck
and out of the way of the crew for the entire trip, along with all the animals. . .
I was already feeling a little claustrophobic. . .
plus, we had toured three very similar craft in Jamestown . . .
so we chose to skip the tour.

but the harbor was very pretty. . .

isn’t this just a beautiful building?
I didn’t realize until I was looking at the entryway pic. . .
we probably could have gone inside. . .
what a missed opportunity. . .

this was Burial Hill, where several of the first Pilgrims are buried. . .

at this point, the rain that had been threatening became a reality,
so we hurried ourselves back to the car, and made our way home. . .

‘til next time,
Janice and Dave

If youve been to Plymouth please send me your links,
so I can see what we missed. . .
