Travel Days –Cape Cod to Hershey PA

We were Cape Codded out. . .so we decided to leave four days early,
do a one nighter in  Hartford CT. . . the State Capitol. . .
and then head on to Hershey PA the next morning. . .
Wilderness Lakes RV Park - Willington CT
isn’t this a pretty setting?
Lake Wilderness RV Park in Willington CT, about 20 minutes out of Hartford. . .
and a Passport America Park. . .so $25 per night. . .not bad. . .
Wilderness Lakes RV Park - Willington CT
we pulled in. . .hooked up electric only. . .
unhooked the Jeep. . .and headed off to Hartford. . .
Connecticut State House - State Capitol Building - Hartford CT
which may have the most stunningly beautiful State House
I have witnessed to this point. . .fabulous!

Too bad we arrived at the worst time of day for pics,
but still. . .stunningly beautiful. . .

Lake Wilderness RV Park
woke the next morning to 40* temps. . .brrrr. . .
Travel Day
and off we go. . .rolling by eight. . .which is exceptionally early for us. . .
oops. . .sorry Babe. . .forgot to tell you. . .
the park owner said wait til after 8:30 to try and get through Hartford. . .yikes!
no worries. . .just take it slow, and make it through. . .
Travel Day
beautiful scenery in upstate New York. . .
Travel Day
and Pennsylvania. . .with little sparks of fall color thrown in. . .
we’re thinking the Shenandoah Valley may be
all out spectacular by the time we arrive there next month. . .
PA Road Construction
too bad all of Pennsylvania wasn’t as fabulous. . .
and certainly we understand the need for road construction cones. . .
but seriously. . .way out in the driving lane. . .
yup. . .we nailed a couple of ‘em. . .
but I can tell you for a fact. . .we weren’t the only ones to hit the crazy things. . .
they were mowed down all along the construction zone. . .
I’m sure those big semis were bowling ‘em over left and right. . .
well right anyway. . .they were busy trying to not drop
off the shoulder on the left!
Travel Day
but we were certainly rewarded at the end of a long driving day. . .
this is our view for the next three weeks as we sit at our computers. . .
nice huh?

‘til next time,
Janice and Dave

  1. Paul just hates the way so many states fix their roads. That is ridiculous to put those cones that far out on the road...unless there is a huge brim to use.

The coach has great suspension. . .we kept saying, oh boy. . .if we were in the big truck, this would be a really, really rough ride. . .

  2. I'm definitely going to write down that Connecticut park you stayed in. Looks fabulous. Can't wait to see your Hershey Bar!! Wish I could have taken your 4 more Cape Cod days off your hands. Having only 5, I could have used them.

  4. That is the most ornate Capitol I have ever seen...looks more like a royal residence. :-)
