Indianapolis–The State Capitol of Indiana

Getting from Cave City KY to Indianapolis was quite something. . .
busy, busy, busy Interstate 65 between Louisville KY and Indianapolis IN. . .plus road construction. . .FUN!
Interstate 65 is a busy, busy, busy thoroughfare. . .
We had been told it was Derby Week in Louisville
by our very kind RV friends John and Judy Long,
and that traffic going through downtown Louisville
was always crazy. . .add to that Detour Signs,
Alternate Route 65 signs, and Major Construction Ahead signs,
we chose to follow the Alternate Route, and bypass Louisville. . .
more Indiana road construction, with the barrels all the way over in our driving lane. . .lovely
doesn’t this look fun. . .barrels IN OUR LANE!

so while getting there was something of a trial,
we did have a  very, very pleasant overnight stay in Indianapolis. . .
Summer Trip 2014, Indiana (35)
at the lovely Lake Haven Retreat just minutes off the Loop in Indianapolis
easy pull though level sites. . .a little close to the neighbor but not bad. . .
Summer Trip 2014, Indiana (36)
we thought this was a little unusual. . .
in these back in sites across from us. . .the motorhomes pull in forward. . .
I guess because the utilities are on a shared pole? ? ? hmmmm. . .
anyway, for an overnite, we only hooked up the electric, so setup only took minutes. . .
Indiana State Capitol Building
and off we went to see the State Capitol of Indiana in all it’s glory
the approach to the Capitol Building - everything is built in very close
it’s another of those difficult to photograph Capitol Buildings
where everything is built in very close. . .
no way we could get a pic of us in front of it. . .
but I have included some inside pics
of the rotunda and the atrium in the album below. . .

our next stop. . .Michigan!
see you there,
Janice and Dave

RV Tip for the Day
I’ve read on a couple of blogs now that getting into a fuel station
in the rig is quite a trial. . .
We always use truck stops, and go to the truck pumps. . .
an RV friend said. . .oh I hear the truckers don’t like it when you do that. . .
sooooo? ? ?

I’m a paying customer. . .right?
I have an app on my phone called
ALLSTAYS Big Truck Stops. . .
I think I paid $1.99 for it. . .invaluable!
