Full Time RV Living–Will You Ever Buy Another House?

hmmmmm. . .fellow RV’ers, Marsha and Paul who write Where’s Weaver
ran across a deal they couldn’t pass up. . .and bought a house. . .

Now, because I’m still young. . .ha ha. . .I’m still thinking. . .
I don’t EVER want to own another house. . .however. . .
I know that things can change. . .

So. . .what are you thinking. . .do you see yourself ever
having a place and becoming a snowbird like Marsha and Paul?

Read more of their story here. . .

Send me a note. . .tell me what your plans for the future might be. . .

Safe travels,
Janice

  1. Thanks for the shout out, Janice.

We did get a super deal. When Paul came up with the idea of full timing, I said I would sign on for two years. It will be four years starting on Oct. 17. I did and am still enjoying the freedom of travel.

The house will gives us a good homebase to visit our family here in Ohio, and the freedom to see Carrie in TX and other relatives and friends throughout the US.

    1. I'm glad you are happy with your decision. . .I know others who have done the same, and are also happy with their decision.

Hoping I have a lot more traveling days before I need to consider those options. . .enjoy!

  2. Nope, no way will I have a stick and brick again. When it is time to "hang up the keys" we'll buy a lot in an RV park or Escapees park and live in our RV till the end.

    1. We think we lean the same direction as you guys. . .but only time will tell.

I think considering options, and planning ahead for the what ifs is wise and prudent. . .just don't see us ever owning property again. . .been there done that. . .but that's not to say we will NEVER!

  3. WE have been fulltiming for 13 years. We found a peach of a deal on a 2 bedroom ranch on 5 acres in west Georgia last December for $45,000, and snapped it up. On a VA loan at 4.25% interest and nothing down we couldn't say no. We are very very glad we did, because in May I was admitted to the hospital in Flagstaff, Arizona and stayed there for 34 days. I am still recovering from my surgeries, and am so glad I have somewhere to go to just hang out for a while.

  5. Dick and I have been full time RVing since June 2011. We tell everyone that we will never own another house, and we truly believe that . No huge house to clean or yard to mow. We also tell everyone that, Lord willing, we will continue as full-time RVers until our health does not permit or our kids take our keys away - hopefully, 10-20 or more years. If this RV breaks, we will park it and live in it - hopefully, on a small piece of property that we own. If that is not possible, we will rent a small apartment. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!
