After three years of moving all the coffee supplies off the counter
every time we move. . .I finally gave in. . .
and decided to velcro them down. . .
Here’s why I am trying it. . .Dave is teaching classes all over the state this winter. . .
so we are going to be moving a lot. . .and often.
I decided it will be just as easy to pull them loose and clean ever so often,
as it is to move them back and forth. . .if I hate it. . .
I’ll just take it all loose and go back to the old way. . .
What do you think?
I would be sure to remove that glass coffee pot. It should work. Did you try earthquake putty? That works pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteWe use putty (plumbing putty, cause it's a lot cheaper) on a lot of stuff. . .everything on my desk is puttied down. . .including the computer. It's been riding like that for years with no problem.
DeleteI didn't want to use putty under these items because I knew they would need to be totally removed to clean under. . .and the putty is kinda messy.
I made the statement to hubby. . .we hafta remember to move this pot (the coffee carafe). . .can't figure out a way to stick it down to that warmer plate. . .LOL!
Cute header photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I use removable mounting putty on most of my stuff. Works great too.
I saw the putty trick on a show about decorating a yacht. . .and knew it was a winner! So much easier than packing up every single time. . .
Deletesounds like a good idea.Let us know how it works.
ReplyDeleteI surely will let you know. . .yay or nay. . .not every idea is a good one. . .we'll find out if this is or not. . .
DeleteI use rubber coated waffle weave stuff cut from a roll under our coffee maker, as well as under plants & items I keep in the small area behind the cook top. I also use it in the bedroom under everything on the shelf next to my side of the bed, including my printer. So far, everything has stayed put, & it's easy to lift for cleaning. I also use museum putty to keep our little lamp in place on the dinette table.
ReplyDeletethat waffle stuff is absolutely magical JeanMarie. . .and it's all my friend uses under her coffee pot also. . .I'm not quite that brave. . .lol.
DeleteI've used so much of it, I should have stock in the company. . .seriously. There's an entire roll under our mattress to keep it from sliding off the platform. . .magic for sure! : )
We hardly move any of our stuff since we travel a lot. We use the rubber waffle stuff under all of our counters and just about everywhere which holds some stuff unbelievably well. We do put a strap around our glass coffee pot just in case it moves but so far we have been movement free.
ReplyDeleteoooo. . .the comment about putting a strap around the coffee pot gives me a good idea. . .I have that double-sided velcro strap that you use for power cords. . .I'm gonna try it out!
