Full Time RV Maintenance–This is a great idea. . .

From Blog Posts

I was very thankful to see this ad, which served as a great reminder to me that our carbon monoxide alarm is out and needs to be replaced.

And besides that, this is my favorite, favorite place to check out motorhomes. It's never a sacrifice to stop by when we are in Houston!

RV Fire Safety

RV owners need to be just as a careful, if not more so, than homeowners in guarding against fires, and the best way to do that is through prevention.

  1. AMEN! Touche! Hallelujah! I LOVE PPL MOTORHOMES! I too get their ezine and send RV shoppers to their website ALL the time. We lived near Houston at one point and even sold Mom's Country Coach thru them - great company. I ALMOST would move back to humid Houston just to visit PPL again and take a class or two from Terry Cooper - almost!

But really, that was a great reminder from PPL about RV safety and I enjoyed Jaimie's link about Mac's class too. Thanks Janice.

My mom took Mac's class when she first started RVing ... and it came in very handy one night. She was in the process of moving from her first RV - a 1978 GMC into the 1994 Country Coach when at 2am she smelled S-M-O-K-E! She realized the manual in the CC microwave had caught on fire and her alarm had not yet gone off - it started just as she woke up. (How to program the clock on the micro was more difficult than she realized and it had ignited the manual) She was prepared and put the small fire out, thanks to Mac insisting the extinguisher be "at hand".

Mom thinks very highly of Mac and is ALWAYS prepared for a fire after taking his class.

  2. Aren't Terry and Evada of MobileRVAcademy.com just the best? We met them at PPL. . .and have learned tons from them.

I have read a lot of Mac's stuff, but haven't had the privilege of seeing a live demonstration. . .but my hubby was an industrial firefighter, so as you can imagine. . .fire prevention is definitely a topic of discussion around here. . .in my opinion, those classes are a mandatory part of living in an RV. . .seriously. . .have you ever watched those youtube videos of an RV on fire.

Goodness, it only takes seconds. . .
