Full Time RV Living–More Tips for RV Wannabees

I probably receive a handful of requests each week for info from folks
who are interested in the lifestyle. . .and while we love it. . .
and have no plans in the near future to go back to sticks and bricks. . .
I am very truthful when I say. . .this lifestyle is not for everyone. . .
it’s really, really not. . .

That’s why I love to share great articles with great view points when I find them. . .
and this is one of those articles. . .I hope you’ll take the time to check it out:

and please share in the comments section
any tips that helped you when you were
just getting started. . .
it's time to pass it forward!

  1. I agree. If a person doesn't like adventure, the outdoors, the beauty of nature and sometimes a bump in the road, don't do it!

  2. As a newbee fifteen years ago, the most helpful thing we were told was. . .keep the black water tank closed at all times. . .only open the valve to dump it, and then close it back. . .otherwise all the yuckies build up on the bottom of the tank, while all the liquids drain out.

I've always been thankful to that gentleman for sharing that information. . .we had no clue!

  3. Laugh, Laugh, and Laugh some more. If you don't have a sense of humor, you won't be happy. Offer a smile to anyone who passes and you will be pleased (most of the time) with what you get back. For the practical side, make arrival and leaving checklists and FOLLOW them. Always walk around your rig before pulling out to make sure all your compartments are closed, awnings in, etc. And most of all, laugh!

    1. all true Lynda. . .and don't get complacent about the check lists. . .you will forget something important if you do! This week I picked up and hunted apples and potatoes that had rolled all around the rig. . .cause hubby got ahead of himself, and didn't set the produce basket on the floor. . .LOL. . .

  4. Do your research, camp in your driveway, or a friends, we stayed in our friends yard while I recovered from surgery and made sure we had made the right decision. We haven't looked back since.

    1. Good advice Bryan. . .I've also known couples who agreed that after a set time frame. . .if either wasn't happy. . .they would go back to stix and brix. . .neither of them went back. . .but it was nice, I'm sure to know there was a safety net!
