We have arrived at our new digs. . .
2012-10-26 Blog pics 001
the rig is backed in to. . .and we are overlooking a cypress swamp
off of Lake Steinhagen, which is close to Jasper TX. . .

Because today was a LONG, stress filled (read pulling the rig through Houston traffic) day. . .this is going to be a short post. . .

but you can rest assured. . .I am still on my quest to see an alligator. . .
so I will keep you posted!

    1. I promise I won't Gary. . .a lady conducting a class in Louisiana years ago said alligators are like stray cats, if you ever feed them, you can't get rid of them. . .I believe her! and they are a lot more dangerous. . .

  3. Hi Janice,
My first time to your blog. I'll be subscribing. Very nice.

Just saw your post on Sparky and Eldo's blog about Ruby Falls...We second that Ruby Falls and all the attractions on Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN are worth a visit. I blogged about all of them in February (25 & 26), 2011. We loved Chattanooga.

  4. First time visitor to your blog - found you from your post at Travels With Emma. I vacationed there at the State Park a few years ago and stayed in one of the limited-duty cabins there. I had to laugh at the sign at the entrance that warned about alligators! I never saw one, but there was a photo of one seen in one of the canals about 2 weeks before my arrival. I pity your driving through Houston - it's bad enough to do it just in a car! I look forward to reading more of your experiences.

    1. So glad you found our blog Cari. . .we love sharing and visiting with other RV'ers. . .we still haven't seen an alligator. . .the Park Ranger says it's a little cool for them to be out right now. . .I would think they would want to lay out in the sun. . .but hey, what do I know? LOL. . .

We look forward to getting to know you better!

  5. Travel has a way of stretching the mind. The stretch comes not from travel’s immediate rewards, the inevitable myriad new sights, smells and sounds, but with experiencing firsthand how others do differently what we believed to be the right and only way.
