Full Time RV Travel–Brackenridge on Lake Texana was a Wonderful Experience

I love the water in any form. . .even sitting by a swimming pool or fountain makes me happy. . .
chair
so sitting at the water’s edge at Lake Texana was just perfect. . .how much more relaxing can you get?

The wind would blow so hard that the lake would
have whitecaps, and waves. . .so I would sit out there,
pretend I was at the beach. . .no salt, no sand. . .
heavenly!

Beautiful Butterflies
and of course you know I’m going to chase down and photograph any butterfly that I see. . .

but, alas, all good things must end. . .
Day Trip - Lake Texana to Lake Steinhagen
so Friday morning, we loaded up, and headed out through Houston, which would supposedly cut an hour off of our travel time. . .what were we thinking?  Traffic. . . cars cutting in front of ya at 65 mph. . .changing lanes to make sure you stay on the right freeway. . .grrrrrr.

We lived, and drove in Houston traffic for 30 years.  I didn’t think a thing about driving across town to take a class. . .but pulling  a rig is a whole different ballgame. . .but survive we did . . .

  1. That is a gorgeous COE park. We grew up on the West Coast...no cypress trees there. They look so foreign!

Watch out for those alligators. On TV they sneak up on you from our of the water. I don't think I'd be fishing that close to the water! Of course, I probably shouldn't believe everything I see on TV. mwa haha. (Had to get a Halloween laugh in.)

    1. I always forget how beautiful this park is Susan. . .first time we've stayed during the fall. . .

Ha Ha. . .true, you can't believe everything you see on TV. . .imagine that. . .however, caution is definitely advised. . .not only for the alligators, but also for the water moccasins. . .although, thankfully, it's a little cool for them this trip. . .(good one on the Halloween laugh!). . .

  2. Lovely header photo as are all the photos.
We love COE parks. They always have wonderful sites.
We are headed to Livingston HOPEFULLY this coming Saturday. Should be there next Monday. Only going to stay the night at the Escapee's park to get weighed, then onto Houston. We have driven through that traffic many times in the MH. Wonder what it is going to be like driving the 5th W.

I'm sure pulling the fifth wheel will be a similar experience. . .50 feet is 50 feet. . .LOL!

Stay safe. . .take your time!

  3. It's been my experience that Texas drivers are a bit on the wild side. :) Great pics!

    1. It's 'cause we're so close to Mexico, Judy. . .their driving habits have rubbed off on us. . .just kidding. . .I think it's just drivers in big cities, period. . .they just like to whip from lane to lane. . .not realizing it takes us three times as long to get to a stop. I don't know how big rig drivers do it on a daily basis. . .

I definitely got a lot of praying in. . .LOL!
