oh yes. . .once again we pull out to this. . .
when we left Jefferson City it was on misting. . .
but as the morning progressed, it increased to down pour. . .
which seems just crazy to travel in, when it’s not necessary. . .
so knowing we were coming up on Kansas City,
I hunted us up a place to pull into for the night. . .
Blue Springs Campground – a Jackson County Park – Lee’s Summit Missouri
this will do nicely. . .50A FHU $28 a night. . .
and since this is supposed to continue tomorrow, we’ll stay two nights please. . .
the view out our window this morning. . .never gets old. . .
Since we missed having Kansas City Barbecue the last time we were here. . .
we’ll take this opportunity to make up for it. . .
Brainstorm. . .let’s ask on RV Tips where we can get some REAL AUTHENTIC KC BBQ. . .right?
There’s 22,000 people in that group.. .they should have some good ideas. . .
and boy. . .did they ever. . .thanks guys!
As soon as someone mentioned WoodYard, I remembered that our RV friends,
Margery and Paul had eaten there, so I went to check out their blogpost about it. . .
they liked it. . .let’s choose that one. . .
great choice. . .you could smell and see the smoke the minute you drove up. . .
we chose spareribs, as M&P advised. . .so, so great. . .
smoky, tender. . .did not even need sauce. . .
and I’m pretty sure the creamed corn I ate needs to be repented over. . .divine!
featured on Triple D, and Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations on the Travel Channel. . .
well deserved. . .
it’s still gray and gloomy. . .we’re not doing any sightseeing while we are here. ..
but we did drive around to check out the lake. . .nice!
See you next time in Topeka. . .
