Sioux Falls South Dakota–What a Pretty Place

our travel day from The Badlands NP to Sioux Falls

was great. . .no rain. . .yaaa!

As metroplexes go. . .Sioux Falls is one of SD’s finest. . .

there’s everything you could possibly need. . .

We are stopping in Sioux Falls for one reason. . .supplies!

the Campground at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds will serve our purpose nicely. . .

50A FHU – pull through – $25 excellent – really great camp hosts. . .

but. . .I always gotta check TripAdvisor. . .

‘cause there’s just no telling what you might discover. . .

sure enough. . .there are TWO replicas of Michelangelo Sculptures. . .

Moses – located on the Augustana College Campus

and David (in all his glory) located at Fawick Park Downtown

Since I will NEVER make it to Italy to see the real thing. . .

a replica will hafta do. . .spectacular both. . .loved it!

and then there is St Joseph’s Cathedral. . .

we’re always up to visit a Cathedral. . .

especially if there is a magnificent Pipe Organ like this. . .

one weekend, I SHALL make it to a service just to hear one played. . .

I love everything about them. . .everything!

the thing it is named for is Falls Park. . .

just spectacular. . .all natural. . .

I seldom rhapsodize about a City Park. . .

but this one is just above and beyond fabulous. . .

from the Visitor Center area, with benches, and gorgeous hanging baskets,

to the Falls Overlook Café, where we had a sandwich for lunch. . .

all very, very well done. . .immaculate and pristine. . .

In fact, all the parks and gardens we saw all over the city

were just wonderful. . .and very uplifting. . .

Thanks to the City of Sioux Falls for the totally unexpected pleasure

of enjoying your beautiful city. . .you have much to be proud of.
