I think I told you that after a weekend of rain we discovered a roof leak. . .
so once we arrived home yesterday,
Dave dragged out the big ladder,
and the tube of Dicor self leveling caulk
he had picked up at the RV supply store here in town.
Thankfully he did not need to go up on the roof (which freaks me out.)
Dave does not understand my freaking out, and gets quite annoyed by it. . .
but the part you don’t know, is that long ago,
before we met,
he fell from a roof. . .twice.
Once because the ladder collapsed,
and once because the roof was slick, and he slid. . .
all the way to the ground. . .OUCH!
He's not that twenty year old anymore. . .
I would prefer he does NOT fall from this roof. . .so there.
It only takes a moment to change your life forever. . .
and prevention is always easier than recovery. . .right?
Okay. . .back to the story.
After some cleaning and scraping
and wiping it all down with denatured alcohol,
he applies the magic.
Guess we wait for the next rain to see if the magic works. . .
but, since we have the ladder out. . .
may as well fix a couple other little problems. . .
you know, those little naggy things that are always on a TO DO list. . .
you do have one of those, don’t you?
Glue a couple strips back on the window facings. . .
realign the cover for the slide topper.
Still not sure that’s exactly right. . .
may need to wait til we get back to Conroe,
so Ed and Rick and whoever else is on hand can help out. . .
We choose to worship with the
Pentecostals of Springfield
pastored by Rev Harrod,
who just happens to be a
Texas Bible College classmate of Dave’s brother, Rev Curtis Evans. . .
see. . .it’s a small world. . .always a connection everywhere you go. . .
very friendly welcoming folks. . .great music. . .great worship. . .
always wonderful to spend time with God’s Family wherever we may be. . .
and then. . .
on Sunday afternoon. . .the thing I had missed earlier in the week because of the rain. . .
listening to the bells being played from the
in Washington Park. . .
we sat in the rose garden and listened. . .
see if you can tell me the song that is playing. . .
and another video I found online. . .
Having seen “All things Lincoln” while in Springfield,
and having enjoyed the Living History Museum of Springfield,
while out walking around the Downtown Area. . .
I am going to write one more
Springfield “wrap up” post of the order we wish we had seen things in. . .
the order in which the story unfolds. . .
See you there,
Janice and Dave
P.S. for those of you who have written about visiting Springfield,
I would love to include a link to your story. . .
